Who can know HIM?

Though Jesus Christ paid the price for the sins of the world with His own life, most sinners will still be found guilty and will spend eternity in hell.  In fact, Jesus tells us that on judgment day, many will come to Him proclaiming Him as Lord, and yet He will tell them “I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.” How can this be?

The truth is that simply knowing facts about Jesus will not save you. Neither will reciting a “sinner’s prayer,” being baptized, going to church, or doing any of the other things we normally associate with being a “Christian.” Salvation is God’s free gift to sinful men and women, and it is received by putting one’s full faith and confidence in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. This essential saving faith is always accompanied by repentance. Repentance is more than just a heartfelt expression of sorrow over sin. It is your recognition that you are as God sees you: You are exceedingly sinful and worthy of God’s just condemnation. Moreover, repentance is an about-face; it is a turning away from your sinful life and a whole-hearted quest for holiness in your life.

Our loving God and creator takes no pleasure in the death of sinners, instead He would have them turn from their wicked ways (i.e., repent) and live. He has provided the payment for sin, Jesus Christ, so that YOU too can be saved.

Who can know Him?  YOU can know Him if you’ll humbly repent and respond in faith to God’s offer of salvation through His son, Jesus Christ.
